The Turnersville Community Center is a family-friendly gathering place in the heart of northeastern Coryell County, Texas, just 40 miles west of Waco and 12 miles northeast of Gatesville. Conveniently located near the intersection of FM 217 and FM 182, our center serves as a hub for recreation, community, education, and the arts. COMMUNITY EVENTS
Buffalo Stampede
The Turnersville Community Center is more than just a venue — it’s where the community comes together. Our calendar is filled with local gatherings, educational programs, and cultural activities.
Our biggest annual fundraiser, Buffalo Stampede, brings neighbors and visitors together for a day of fun, food, and fellowship every October. This year's event will be held on October 17, 2026. Proceeds help us continue to maintain the center and provide a welcoming space for everyone.
CHILI COOK-OFF & DANCE
Celebrate the Turnersville Annual Buffalo Stampede with an evening of good food, live music, and community fun! Join us October 17, 2026, from 5:00–11:00 PM at the Turnersville Community Center for our Chili Cook-Off & Dance, featuring live music by The Texas Connection Band, great prizes, and silent and live auctions.
Come compete for the best chili, enjoy the dance, or make a night of both! Admission options are available for the full event, dance only, or chili only. BYOB—no glass, please. Bring your friends, bring the heat, and join us for one of Turnersville’s favorite annual traditions.

As a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization, we’re proud to host community events, provide a local voting location, and even serve as a designated warming center during emergencies. Whether you’re a local resident or visiting the area along the historic Chisholm and Bosque Trails, the Turnersville Community Center is a place to gather, celebrate, and connect.
